Welcome to Leesland Park - the location for ParkFest10

Okay everyone start praying to the weather gods - ParkFest10 will be held this year on Saturday 18th September with the fun starting at 2.00pm.

Expect the usual mixture of live music, workshops, children's entertainment and charity stalls with a surprise or two.

For those of you who might wonder where the green and pleasant oasis that is Leesland Park can be found - well, we would be hard pushed to beat the view from Google Earth.

Somewhat less complicated would be to say the park lies at the heart of the Leesland ward, it's boundaries marked by Whitworth Close, Daisy Lane, St Andrews/Kings Road and the cycle path adjacent to Toronto Place. Entrance to the park can be accessed from several points with the main gateways in Daisy Lane, Lavinia Road, Cottage Grove and from the cycle path.

A little help from Gosport Girl Guides - we were pleased to welcome them for a tree planing event.

Sensory Garden Sentinal

During the course of the regeneration of the site, the FoLP have tried to create areas of interest for all members of our community. Specialist zones include the sensory garden (once again opened up thanks to our friends in the Probation Service), orchard area, skatepark, children's play area and a conservation meadow.

Within these zones you will find a number of interesting and what we think unique points of interest. For example the 'totem pole' markers and sundial (not complete) in the sensory garden, the glazed tile seat in the orchard and two interpretation boards (can you find them?)and some very interesting logs. And not forgetting our very own park sentinal (see photo)
